Mr. Sacks is the founder and principal owner of the company that bears his name. The company was created in order to bring together under one entity, Mr. Sacks' diversified business and creative interests.

Writer – Producer - Author

Building upon his combined experience in finance and entertainment, Mr. Sacks started a small Indy motion picture production company in 1988 and has since written and published three books as well as adapted them into original screenplays. He has also Produced two of the screenplays as independent feature films: EXTREME JUSTICE stars Scott Glenn, Lou Diamond Phillips and Yaphet Kotto and had its World Premiere on HBO. The story’s powerful and highly controversial theme was based on Mr. Sacks’ research of the LAPD’s secretive S.I.S. unit. The S.I.S. story continues to make headlines today and has kept the film playing on American TV while the movie has been syndicated worldwide.

NICO THE UNICORN was his second motion picture and starred Elisha Cuthbert, Anne Archer, Michael Ontkean and Kevin Zegers. NICO is the story of a mythical creature that returns to the 20th century and befriends a twelve year old boy. The film had its World Premiere during the Cannes Film Festival. Mr. Sacks wrote the original story and his book was published by St. Martin's Press and their children's division Tor Books, New York. His original screenplay attracted the attention of Steve Tisch (Academy Award winning Producer for FORREST GUMP), and together they Executive Produced the movie. The film is now in syndication and was released in 2002 by the USA Home Entertainment division of Universal Pictures.

However, it is his latest novel, THE WATERBED WARS that will see the realization of a long time personal quest to bring this very unique true story to the big screen. "The Waterbed Wars" was originally published in a hardcover edition and is available from Amazon.com. The feature film is now development.

Currently, Mr. Sacks is adapting another story, "The Hot Foot!" into a new screenplay. The idea for the film is based on a true story circa Hawaii 1972. In brief, it is a teen/action/comedy that will be shot on location in Hawaii in 2008.

A fourth feature film, "LADY GODIVA...Back in the Saddle" was also produced by Mr. Sacks (and shares story credit with his producing partner Heath Jones). This is his latest project and will open in select UK theatres November 16, 2007. With the emergence of the World Wide Web, this exciting new medium has provided opportunities as well as challenges for a myriad of entrepreneurs. Upon recognizing a business opportunity that could take advantage of his particular background, Mr. Sacks formed a company to produce 360 DEGREE VIRTUAL REALITY tours of the World's most beautiful destinations for the Hotel and Travel Industry. The company grew quickly to become the leader in its field, and since its inception has taken thousands of Surround Video™ images and produced 187 Virtual Reality (VR) tours for leading Resorts and Hotels around the world including such brands as: The Ritz Carlton, The Four Seasons, Sheraton, Marriott, Hyatt, Westin, Embassy, Sofitel, Le Meridian and Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts.

Biography

Mr. Sacks is a native of Chicago, he attended Boston University and the University Of Paris/Sorbonne before moving to California where he graduated from San Francisco State University having earned his BA in the Film Department.

Upon graduation his interest in the entertainment industry drew him to Los Angeles and his first executive position with Paramount Pictures as their Director of Special Projects for the West Coast. His marketing of the studio's services led to the creation of the theatrical short "Test Pilot" that won the 1st Place Award as "Best Documentary" at the prestigious New York International Film Festival. Mr. Sacks desire to further immerse himself in the business aspects of the Entertainment Industry followed with a trip to the proverbial mailroom of International Creative Management {ICM}, where he became an Agent in their Motion Picture Department. His Agency experience became a turning point in his film career as he was able to segue from representing actors and writers into independent filmmaking and international film sales when he was offered a production and marketing position with the RGH Film Company.

Recognizing the need to integrate production and creative experience with financial opportunities, he took an unusual step in order to expand his business acumen by joining a leading Wall Street firm, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. When he soon found himself graduating first in his class of 220 Account Executives he knew he had made the right decision. After successfully passing the rigorous SEC/NASD securities exams he received his NASD Registration and Series 7 License and immediately achieved special recognition based upon his marketing skills. His innovative marketing work while at Smith Barney Harris Upham led to the creation of a new method to market financial products based on his idea for "1-800-IRA-INFO". He then started "Investor's Information Network" which was funded in a partnership with American Barrick's Venture Capital Division. As the President of IIN, Mr. Sacks attracted sixty-three top financial consultants to join him in creating a Financial Services network built upon his new communications concept using the number "1-800 – IRA – INFO" as its primary asset. The number was integrated into a financial web site, www.ira-info.com, where online investors gain access to information using interactive tools combined with state-of-the-art 3D animation.

 

Mr. Sacks has lived in Los Angeles for twenty-five years with his wife Paula, during which time she has been responsible for establishing the family name as an innovative and creative force in the field of design through her couture firm "Sacks Studio", and today, "Baby Sacks... designs by paula sacks". Paula Sacks has been featured on the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather and profiled in PEOPLE magazine for her original designs.
